Volunteer with Kauai Recycling for the Arts Our volunteers are what make our operations and existence possible. KRA needs volunteers to help run our hot glass shop, administrative operations and artist workspace, which is available for artists to use in exchange for volunteer hours. Volunteers are invited to participate in artist open studios and free days to work on their own work. KRA believes in nurturing our artist community with art skills and opportunities that help them to advance in their own creativity. This is a great opportunity to learn about glass and make art! Since we are a volunteer run organization, we rely on volunteers to help us make our glass art, with the proceeds from sales going towards our overhead expenses. Operating a hot glass studio is an expensive program to run. We are not subsidized, and rely on memberships, and the generous support from donations and grants. The County allows us the opportunity to use the resource center space and equipment to work and hold our educational programs without a fee until October of 2006, then we will have to pay a monthly lease contract.
